Test Manager's Report
And that's a wrap !!
Grangewater's is the culmination of the Three Breed Club's Water Test Season, and what a busy season it seems to have been.
This test was also the roll out of a new electronic test entry form, which proved very successful, well done Kevin Clarke for preparing that.
Our Water test last year attracted a very large entry of 61 tests, we did not expect to get anywhere near that this year, particularly as some of our Welsh friends had booked alternative arrangements, we eventually settled on a final entry of 43 tests.
With 26 Entries to test on the Saturday, I made the decision to run both swims, whilst on the Sunday we scaled down to just the one swim to cater for the 17 tests on the second day.
We welcomed guests from NewForest, Terranova, WNAG, Rother, and SEWN several of whom enjoyed the comfort of our Luxury Lakeside Lodges for the weekend, they were all put to good use with plenty of stewarding duties. Many thanks for all of your help. Hopefully next time we might even have hot water for you....
Conditions across the weekend were almost perfect, overcast with scattered sunshine, warm, and very little breeze to worry our boat crews. Although, on Sunday whilst our Welsh judges were officiating they brought some weather with them - just so that they could use their water proof clip boards....
At Section A - we had 8 entries, 7 of which passed.
At Section B - the pass rate was 35 % - with 4 passes from the 11 entries. Well done to Kim Rhodes with Izzy, James Rogers with Teddy, Ken Richards with Valerie, and Clive Haylock with Birdie.
At Section C - the pass rate was almost 25 % - with 3 passes from the 13 entries. Well done to Jay Rhodes with Mike, Ken Richards with Valerie, and Stuart Arnold with Isaac - (tho unless he gets his entry form in he won't get a certificate....)
At Section D - we had 1 terrific pass from the 6 entries - congratulations to Sara Davies with Kubeba.
At Section E - unfortunately none of our 5 entries passed on this occasion.
It is interesting to note that entries at the higher levels exceeded those at the lower entry levels, showing the development that teams have been able to make over the season. It was also delightful to see a few puppies observing the tests, all of which bodes well for next season.
To our Judges, the stewards, our entrants, and those guests who came along to observe, thank-you for your support over the weekend, and we hope to see you all again next year.

Water Section B
Judges: Kevin Clarke & Sara Davies
We had 11 dogs entered in B today and despite some heavy downpours we had some lovely passes and some that need a bit more work especially in the underwater retrieve and/or controlled swim.
Many thanks to Grangewaters and the Newfoundland Club for hosting the event and to all the stewards who helped throughout the B tests.
4 passed out of 7 entries.

Water Section D
Judges: David Viney & Paul Dodd
The weather was fine with just a light breeze, so there were no major drift problems. Of the six dogs entered we only had one pass (and it was an excellent one with no points deducted) whilst most of the others showed they had the ability to pass but just didn't want to on the day. Some dogs were determined to go for the wrong retrieve. Thanks to the efficient stewards and over board strangers and of course the Grangewaters team.
